I see other people are having this problem too. It is very frustrating. iTunes 9 will not let you manage your podcasts the way you want, either by creating a playlist with both music and podcasts OR just a list of podcasts in the order you wish to hear them.
I should mention my iPod is vintage - 20GB Click Wheel no color screen but still! It worked fine before 9 came into my life. Thanks Apple.
