move command not copy ...

Hello all,
I have movies on my desk top. I'm trying to "move" them into my iTunes movie folder. I have iTunes open and the movie folder selected and I'm dragging the movies from my desk top into the iTunes movie folder. This is just making a copy and I am having to delete the movies on my desk top! I remembered that there was a command while dragging that will "move" a folder instead of copying it. I thought it was hold down the command key and then drag the folder. Thats not it. I've tried everything and I can't remember. Please help,

My iTunes library is on an external hard drive.
